What is Eid-ul-Fitr?
Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the happiest days for Muslims. When we win any game and get rewarded, we are filled with happiness and joy. The same way Eid-ul-Fitr is the reward of our fasting. It is just what we wait for the whole year. During Ramadhan, we should ask ourselves, are we doing our fasting properly to get the rewards from Allah? If not, then we should admit it honestly and before Eid, we should try our best during the remaining days of Ramadan. There are two categories of individuals when returning from Eid prayer. One category consists of the people who is displeased and dissatisfied. And, another category are the people who have been rewarded. God tells them, “ Go, you have been forgiven for your mistakes. You make me happy and now I will make you happy.” So, we should try to be like the second group of people, because then only we will be successful.
Before going to Eid prayer we should give our Zakaat-ul-Fitr to the poor people so that we can purify our fast. When we wear our best outfits for Eid we recognize the kindness of Allah. It also involves beautification because Allah is beautiful and he loves that which is beautiful. Eid is the day of happiness, so during this day we should also make other people happy, and by doing that we will feel happy ourselves meaning that Allah will be happy as well. When we are happy during the day of our Eid it means that we have a really happy Eid.

Let's see one tale on how we can really became happy and make this Eid-ul-Fitr 2020 memorable? A long time ago, there was a drought in a kingdom. And because of the drought there was food shortage everywhere. There were many starving people who went to bed with an empty stomach. At that time the King of the kingdom decided to give free food to all of the poor people. Everybody was very happy with him. And during the night time he used to go out in secret to different streets and neighbourhoods so he could try to know the people's real condition of their struggles. He saw that everybody was sleeping. He felt good that people were not awake because of hunger. After a long walk he saw a little fire was lit in front of a small poor house. He went to that house and heard some kids were weeping, and their mother was cooking something. The King knocked the door and asked the mother, what happened? Why the children are crying? She did not recognize the King. She said, her children were hungry for three days because her husband has died and she does not have any money to buy food. The King asked her, what was she cooking? She revealed to him that it was simply water and stones in the pot. She did this so her kids would stop crying and, cool down hoping that their food would be ready after sometime, since they don’t know their mother was not actually making anything and was only pretending to so they would stop crying. In the meanwhile they would be tired and fall sleep. After hearing that, the King became very sad and felt guilty. He thought as a King he did not distribute food to the poor properly. He quickly went to the store and filled a bag with food. As he began to carry the bag, one of his workers was amazed to see that. He requested the King to give that bag to him to carry. The King said he felt guilty, so he himself should carry that bag to that family. He gave the food to the mother and helped her in cooking the meal. When the meal was ready, the children and the mother ate their food and had a full stomach. They were extremely satisfied and smiled with happiness. The King also felt very happy as if though it was like Eid. He asked the mother, why she did not go to the King and asked for help. The mother replied, she is poor but she is not a bagger. And that was the King's duty, to check if anybody was starving in his kingdom. The King realized his mistake and requested to forgive him. The mother was surprised to know that it was King himself who had brought the food for them. The mother was very happy to see the King and to her it also felt like the happiness of Eid. Same as the King, this Eid-ul-Fitr 2020 the reason for our happiness should be the smile on other's face. It should be our duty to bring smile on the face of the people who have lost their smile. We should bring peace and smile to everybody in this World, it doesn’t matter if they are Muslims or Non-Muslims. This Eid-ul-Fitr 2020, bringing happiness in everyone's life should be our priority and our promise to ourselves.
